Micro frontends can help when frontend scale is mostly an organizational problem. The goal is not to split code for the sake of splitting code. The goal is to let teams own a business capability from UI to deployment.
const routes: Routes = [
{
path: 'orders',
loadChildren: () =>
loadRemoteModule({
type: 'module',
remoteEntry: 'https://cdn.example.com/orders/remoteEntry.js',
exposedModule: './Routes'
}).then((m) => m.routes)
}
];
When it helps
Micro frontends make sense when teams need independent release cycles, clear ownership and isolated experimentation.
When it hurts
They add runtime integration complexity, versioning concerns and UX consistency challenges. A strong design system and platform governance are essential.
